Hiccup

Sorry for the later-than-usual post today. I bet you thought I'd gone the way of the dodo again. Just a little hiccup in server land that ended up fixing itself while I waited ever-so-paitently here.

Anyway, despite my work stress, (hey, you there! I shake my fist at you! You know who you are.) I've not taken lunch yet. So, I heard a rather nice lil' bit-o-Susan Standburg this morning (is that like a bit-o-honey? I hope not.) on NPR. She was getting a great list of independant bookstore owners' picks for books to give this year. I was all excited about a new compilation of Frank O'Hara poetry coupled with modernist paintings (that would be "ekphrastic poetry"), called "In Memory of My Feelings: A Selections Of Poems". So I bopped over to Amazon to put it on my wishlist. Yeah. It's $65! Crikey! Are they original paintings in there? Do I get it signed by O'Hara from the grave? 'Cause at those prices, it ought to be. Anyway, it's still on my wishlist. Along with a book of photographs by Johan Van Der Keuken called "The Lucid Eye: The Photographic Work 1953-2000". It's not even available to buy, except used for $174. Yeah, right. (or "pshaw" if you rather)
